This Woman's Joke Poem About Popeye's Chicken Actually Ended up Getting Published

Twitter user Wisdom recently had to write a poem to get a grade for her English class. The poems would be submitted to the Appelley Publishing 2017 Rising Stars Collection, and have the chance of getting published.
Despite that, Wisdom explains that it could be about anything they wanted, and she just wanted the grade. So she decided to write a poem about Popeye's $5 Bonafide Big Box, which was recently discontinued. And somehow, she says it got chosen for publishing.
in my english class we had to do a poem for a writing contest our teacher entered us in for a grade, right? and she said it could be about whatever so i made mine about the $5 box at popeye’s cause i just wanted the points... why i get a letter saying my poem getting published pic.twitter.com/U3SqRsnfjW

i’m lowkey mad pic.twitter.com/VFbhcRiOHV
— wiz (@kordeisdiary) January 10, 2018The poem reads:
"Approaching I see, bright orange and whitecoming fast in front of me.The aroma so thick, filling my nostrils, oh.I can just taste thedrumstick. As I follow the yellow brick roadthat is the drive-thru,I realize.Popeyes, what I love so dearly, discontinued the $5 box. Now, I am lost."Wow. Truly moving. Wisdom also provided proof that her poem had been chosen. A letter allegedly from the publisher reads:
"We simply can't publish every student who writes to us, but in your case, we have decided that we would like to include your poem, 'Popeyes' in the Appelley Publishing 2017 Rising Stars Collection."
Unsurprisingly, social media was touched. While some people felt she deserved some sort of compensation (gift card, anyone?), others felt like the power of the poem was the way it moved people. "That poem really spoke to me though. I felt your hurt through that. Now I'm hurt," one such fan wrote. "And I love over 100 miles from my nearest Popeye's. My soul is shook. BRB on my way to demand that $5 box and eat my heart you [sic]."
